Sarubima
The Cargills Sarubima fund was established in 2008 to invest in uplifting the lives of the farming communities. Cargills contributes 50 cents for every kilogram of fresh produce and every liter of fresh milk purchased from our farmers, which is invested to provide educational scholarships for farmer children, resources for up-skilling of farming communities, credit insurance schemes against crop failures, and investment in local infrastructure. 60% of the fund is directed towards educational scholarships, helping to bridge the gap in access to quality education and learning facilities for rural communities.
Agricultural Modernization Project
Launched in 2019, the Agriculture Modernization Project enhances farmer livelihoods through improved productivity by introducing our farmers to climate-smart agriculture technique which lead to higher yields, multiple harvests, lower input costs, and sustainable agriculture, while adhering to the international standards of product quality and safety. At the onset, we collaborated with JAIN Irrigation Systems India and gave the opportunity to a selected group of farmers and extension officers to receive first-hand exposure to Agronomy and Micro Irrigation training via a visit to Indian high-tech farms and technical parks.
