Where are the Cargills Squares situated?
Jaffna
During the latter half of 2013, Cargills launched the first Cargills Square in Jaffna, located in the heart of the city at the junction of Hospital Street and Mahathma Gandhi Road, opposite Jaffna Hospital. Cargills Square introduced our consumers in Northern Sri Lanka to a shopping experience never seen before in the region, with a mammoth 74,000 sq. ft. mall which gives consumers access to a Cargills FoodCity supermarket, a KFC restaurant, a three-screen Cineplex, food court, bank, a range of shops and a basement car park all under one roof. The Cineplex has seating for 600 people and is managed by our parent company, CT Holdings (formerly known as the Ceylon Theatres Group).
Gampaha
Following the success of the Cargills Square in Jaffna, we brought this unique shopping experience to Gampaha in early 2017. The all-inclusive shopping and entertainment mall, situated at Minuwangoda-Gampaha-Miriswatta Road, contains a Cargills FoodCity outlet, a KFC restaurant and a two-screen Cineplex (2D and 3D).
Dematagoda
The third Cargills Square was opened in Dematagoda, Colombo in February 2021. A 50,000 sq. ft. complex, it houses a Cargills Food City outlet, a KFC restaurant, with the main entertainment attraction being the 3-screen cineplex managed by Regal Cinemas.
Katubedda
The Cargills Square in Katubedda was opened in May 2023. The four-story shopping and entertainment complex includes a Cargills FoodCity supermarket, a Food Court with multiple restaurants and retail space for rent, a KFC restaurant, and 3 cinema screens including a 3D facility to watch the latest cinematic releases.
Bandarawela
The fifth Cargills Square was opened in Bandarawela, becoming the second mall to be opened in 2023, providing a unique destination complex where customers can shop, dine, and watch a movie, all under one roof. It includes a Cargills FoodCity supermarket, a Food Court with multiple restaurants, retail shops, a KFC restaurant, a Cargills Bank branch, and a Regal Cineplex with 3D screens.
