Cargills and CMC partner to promote urban agriculture

Cargills in partnership with the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) launched a model urban agriculture project at the CMC Town Hall premises on the 29th of August 2022. The project aims to promote modern agriculture techniques and the opportunity to use urban land spaces to grow crops. The lawn at the CMC Townhall premises has been used for this purpose, where over 10 crop varieties have been cultivated, including beetroot, kankun, radish, capsicum, chili, ginger, spinach, and tomato. The harvested crops will be donated to communities in need within the Colombo Municipality. It is open to the public for viewing, so please feel free to drop by the CMC at Townhall
