Cargills and University of Moratuwa
seal MOU to set up Sri Lanka’s first Food Process
Development Incubator |
The University of Moratuwa and Cargills (Ceylon)
PLC. have sealed a Memorandum of Understanding to
set up a Food Process Development Incubator, a first
of its kind in Sri Lanka. This is also the largest
project undertaken by the University of Moratuwa in
collaboration with a local private sector company.

Lanka |
Cargills (Ceylon) PLC. is rated among the Ten Best
Corporate Citizens in Sri Lanka.
Cargills clinched the award at the
Ceylon Chamber’s annual awards ceremony and also bagged
the category award for Customer and Supplier
Relations.
The top ten Best Corporate Citizens
were selected by a judging panel based on their
performance in 5 categories, i.e. Environment, Community
Relations, Employee Relations, Customer and Supplier
Relations and Economic Performance.

Cargills receives Sooriya-Sinha Awards
|

Cargills Quality Dairies, CPC Agri-
Foods and Cargills Rice recently received the
Sooriya-Sinha award and logo at the hands of President
Mahinda Rajapakse.
The Sooriya- Sinha award and logo was
granted to 34 selected companies which produce and
promote truly Sri Lankan products and services.
The National
event held at BMICH on the 29th
of October 2007 was organized by the Mawubima Lanka
foundation and sponsored by Cargills.

Representatives of the Bill Gates
foundation visited Sri Lanka and India in June 2007, on an
observation mission as part of its
21st
Century Agricultural Education and Information system
project.
The
delegation’s visit to Sri Lanka included a comprehensive
field visit of the Cargills out-grower system, which
gave them insight into our unique business model and how
we have directly linked rural farming communities into
our supply chain.
