Cargills donates Rs 6.8 million worth food for displaced civilians |
Cargills (Ceylon) PLC donated Rs 6.8 million worth of noodles to fulfill a day’s meal requirements of over 100,000 displaced civilians. The donation of 200,000 packs was carried out on the 23rd of April at the Ratmalana Airforce base. Seen in the picture is Squadron leader Samaraweera accepting the donation from Mr. Lalin Ratwatte of Cargills.

Cargills Food City gave away gifts worth more than Rs 5 million to farmers and entrepreneurs on Saturday, 14th February 2009 as part of its 25th Anniversary Celebration of a lifetime. The gifts were distributed at a grand ceremony held at Cargills Food City Maharagama. This followed the Lucky Draw on the 31st of January 2009, held to pick the winners of the Doren Dorata competition
Accordingly the following lucky winners walked away with valuable gifts.

Cargills Supremo recently felicitated its Brand Ambassador Ajantha Mendis for his outstanding performance on the cricketing field having just established a new world record for the fastest 50 wickets in One Day International Cricket. Ajantha who is celebrated the world over as the ‘Future of Spin Bowling’ achieved this phenomenal feat in just 19 matches. Cargills achieves PLATINUM BAND rating for Corporate Accountability |
Cargills (Ceylon) PLC has been rated in the PLATINUM BAND of the inaugural Corporate Accountability rating conducted by STING Consultants.
The 2009 rating according to STING Consultants identifies whether business can develop corporate strategies that respond to stakeholders’ expectations, while maintaining long-term profitability. Accordingly ‘Sri Lanka’s Report Card on Corporate Accountability’ ranks Cargills along with Brandix Lanka, Ceylon Tobacco and Coca Cola Beverages Sri Lanka, the only four corporates ranked in the ‘Platinum Band’ which the highest rating.

CPC Christmas celebrations |
The team at CPC Kist production plant located in Katana decided to share the spirit of Christmas with the community this year. The talented singers at the plant teamed up with three church choirs from three missions in the area and held a Carol Service on the 29th of December 2008. Family members of Kist team attended the event which was graced by the parish priest as well as the chief Buddhist priest of the area. Gifts were also distributed among children by Kist’s very own Santa Clause.

Cargills Quality Dairies, CPC Agri-
Foods and Cargills Rice recently received the
Sooriya-Sinha award and logo at the hands of President
Mahinda Rajapakse.
The Sooriya- Sinha award and logo was
granted to 34 selected companies which produce and
promote truly Sri Lankan products and services.
The National
event held at BMICH on the 29th
of October 2007 was organized by the Mawubima Lanka
foundation and sponsored by Cargills.
