In yet another first from Cargills Food City, Sri Lanka's No 1 supermarket chain has made Millionaires out of 10 Cargills Food City customers through their 'Special Christmas Surprise' promotion. The total give away of prizes during the Christmas and New Year promotion was Rs 15 Million. This includes the 10 lucky winners who walked away with Rs 1 Million each at the awards ceremony held in Colombo today.

The draw to pick the 10 winners was held on February 3, 2012 before the media and officials of the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs. Accordingly the winners are Mr. A.J. M. Rilwan who shopped at the Makola outlet, Mr. R.B. Gunarathne from Fort, Ms. N.S.Jayaratne from Pelawatta, Mr. R.M. Siddiek who shopped at Jawatta outlet, Ms. V. Nandhani from Tangalle, Mr. R.M.N. Rajapakshe from Dankotuwa, Mr. M.P. Jayaweera who shopped at Pannala, Ms. P.A.D.N. Lakshani from Nittambuwa, Mr. S.S.A. Ajith from Boralasgamuwa and Mr. S.H.B Dissanayake who shopped at Kandy have all won Rs 1 Million each and received their cash cheques from Mr. Sidath Kodikara, Chief Operating Officer- Retail, Cargills (Ceylon) PLC (a member of CT Holding Group).

Commenting on the big give away Mr Kodikara noted, "Cargills has continued to make its mark as a initiator by not only providing benefits to consumers but also strengthening the farmer community and empowering the youth through job creation in the rural areas of Sri Lanka.
